My Mission

Today’s information society necessitates that people have the ability to read, write, and understand mathematics, using their knowledge and skills to investigate complex issues and problems. Successful learners have the expertise to transform newly acquired knowledge into creative solutions. I am an Academic Therapist providing intensive multisensory instruction in literacy and mathematics to adolescents and young adults with disabilities. I develop and implement customized programs focused on assisting learners to recognize their ability to succeed by integrating instruction that is developed for a particular learner based on their specific skills and individual needs. It is my vision to work myself out of a job. When I am no longer necessary, it means that the learner has developed the skills to be independent. That is a time for celebration.
